What are Safelists and Email Marketing? How Do You Use Them?

Email Marketing is a Proven marketing Technique

A safelist is an email list that you optin to that allows you to email everyone else in the list. In return, they can also send emails to the list. The priority given to one marketer over another can depend on how many referrals they have made or how many credits they have earned. The long term goal is to get people from the safelist onto your own list where you can build a rapport and market to them long term. To do that you’ll need an email capture page and a lead magnet. There are many places you can set this up but LeadsLeap has a truly innovative all-in-one solution that works well with free marketing techniques. The free version allows for ten lists with  an unlimited number of contacts. However, you don't have access to an autoresponder. You can send a welcome message with a lead magnet and send newsletter type broadcast. For all the features, you can upgrade, which is about $20 a month. Which is incredibly competitive considering all the tools available.

If you want to start with a funnel right away, there is another all-in-one service which allows you build out an entire funnel from the very beginning. While it is a little more complicated than LeadsLeap, I would recommend siging up for both and seeing which you prefer. Both are free, so why not take advantage? Here is a little introduction to get you started:

Of course, if you would prefer to send traffic from emails directly to affiliate offers that is also okay, although not recommend as a long term strategy. The reason for this is that many affiliate networks won't allow traffic from traffic exchanges or safelists. Product creators also like to have good metrics, as it helps them recruit more affiliates. For this reason, many will ban you if you're sending cold traffic that doesn't convert. If you don't have a funnel or don't want to set one up the next best thing to do is to set up a splash page. Many traffic exchanges allow you to set up free splash pages. These are quick loading "bridge pages" that ensure only those interested enough to click through ever see the vendors sales page. This will cut down on unwanted cold traffic and keep you from getting banned.

Whatever strategy you choose you’ll need to sign up to some of these sites, set up your accounts, and start earning credits for mailing!

  • Herculist. One of the oldest and biggest safelist on the web. They allow you to send out emails daily even as a free member but to truly take advantage you'll have to upgrade to lifetime gold account. This will allow you to send out emails daily to the entire list! Right now this one time upgrade is discounted at $25.
  • ViralURL. Earn credits by completing tasks, opening and clicking emails, daily logins, link cloaking and more! You can also create banner and text ads.
  • Pangea. This is another one with a very large list that you can access. You can either earn credits by viewing email ads or you can pay a one time fee to have your credits autorefilled monthly. You can also use credits to purchase lifetime banner ads on the site. The more credits you use the more people your ad will reach.
  • 100 Percent Clicks. This is new site from Frank Salinas focused on providing instant 100% commisions but they also have an easy to use safelist service as well. They offer a free lifetime banner with any membership level.
  • ListOutbreak. To unlock this free mailer all you need to do is refer two new users. This creates a viral network effect that multiplies your effort across your downline.
  • AtlasSafelist. Completely FREE mailer no referrals needed! Simply open and click emails to earn 20 credits each. Each credit allows you to send an email to one person. Banner ads and text ads are also available at lower rates.
  • MailerGold. From the creators of ViralURL this mailer allows you to upgrade to a Lifetime Gold account for a small one time fee. After the list reaches two thousand members it will switch to monthly plan. Of course you can also earn credits the old fashioned way as well.
Once you have signed up for some these sites you may notice that you're receiving tons of emails. This can make it very hard to stay on top of your regular emails! Luckily, most email providers give you a way to filter and categorize your emails and you'll want to take advantage of that. If you have gmail it is a pretty easy process:

Crafting An Email Offer

When creating your email offer it is important to think about it from the point of view of the recipient. They don't know you and they don't trust you, you need to give them a reason to give you their email address. In the past, ebooks and courses were popular lead magnets but many have soured on these as many didn't conatin anything worthwhile or actionable. Instead most were just rehashed PLR books with vague or superficial content. Your offer should focus on what tangible value you can bring to the table. People are looking for specific techniques and strategies to increase traffic, signups, and conversions. Don't try to sell people on a business opportunity, software, or training program right away. People buy from people they trust, that means they need to see that you are adding value and you're not just their to sell products. You should only be selling products that you personally would use and find value in. Nothing will crater your credibility faster than recomending a product that everyone knows is garbage.
